GUITAR HERO: After thrusting Mikhail Gorbachev into the fashion spotlight with its award-winning "core values" campaign, it looks like Louis Vuitton has gone casting in the world of rock 'n' roll for its next personality. Rumor has it Keith Richards, the legendary guitarist and Rolling Stone, recently posed for Vuitton spots during a shoot in New York.

NATURAL WOMAN: The current president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America has cast her vote for the next President of the United States — at least where contributions are concerned. Diane von Furstenberg has donated the maximum $4,600 to Hillary Clinton's campaign, according to Amanda Christine Miller's What's My Logo column on the Huffington Post. In an interview posted on the Web site today, von Furstenberg says, "I support Hillary because I believe she will do the best job in the White House. I do know her a little and like her very much. She is intelligent, diligent, micro and macro, and she truly cares."

The grandmother of three also ruminates on plastic surgery. "I'm sure that a lot of women look at me and say, 'Why doesn't she do anything to her face?'" von Furstenberg, 60, jokes. "But every time that I have contemplated it, I just feel like I would erase part of who I am."

SAUNDERS TO HIT TARGET?: Target may be about to lose Isaac Mizrahi, but perhaps it will gain Jonathan Saunders. According to industry sources, the Scottish designer is in talks with the Minneapolis-based discount retailer to produce a limited edition collection for Target's Go International range, which spotlights new names in the fashion industry. If a collection does go ahead, Saunders would be following in the footsteps of Erin Featherston, Alice Temperley, Proenza Schouler, Luella Bartley and Loeffler Randall, who have all designed collections for the store. Saunders declined to comment Tuesday, while a spokeswoman for Target could not be reached for comment. Saunders, who is known for his inventive prints, is no stranger to cheap chic: His latest collection for the British fast-fashion retailer Topshop features jersey dresses printed with bold, primary color shapes. It will hit stores in the U.K. later this month. Saunders is also leaving London's runways to show his fall 2008 collection during New York Fashion Week.
