GUCCI GONE WILD: Gucci will launch its new men's fragrance Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme on June 23 with one of the biggest bashes during Milan's Men's Fashion Week. The Florentine fashion house has bumped up its runway showtime from its usual evening slot to midday in order to get its Piazza Oberdan show space and neighboring gardens ready for the event. The evening will kick off with dinner for 100 guests. Afterward the doors will be rolled open to another several hundred invitees, to be entertained with a concert by Irish chanteuse Roisin Murphy — who covered Bryan Ferry's song "Slave to Love" for the fragrance's television ad — and later a set by French DJ Michelle Gaubert. The party's guest list includes actor James Franco, the face of Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme's ad campaign. Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci, will host the event together with licensee partner Procter & Gamble Prestige Products.

CRYSTALS ON THE RUNWAY: London's designers let their creative juices flow Wednesday night when they showed a collection of one-off pieces made from crystallized Swarovski elements at the company's Runway Rocks event in London. Shaun Leane sent out a model wearing a headdress of crystal cherry blossom branches, while architect Zaha Hadid created a metal piece of jewelry that swirled around the body and Hussein Chalayan designed a bomber jacket made from shimmering silver crystals. Later, guests including Rosamund Pike, Jaime Winstone and Hadid checked out pieces created for past Runway Rocks events on display in the Phillips de Pury gallery, where the show was held.

NEW YORK INVASION: Nordstrom may not have secured a Manhattan location yet, but fans can get their chance to shop the store in Gotham next week. On June 18, Nordstrom and Vogue are hosting a designer collections shopping event at the Harold Platt House on the Upper East Side. Carolina Herrera, Peter Som, Phillip Lim and Thakoon Panichgul are slated to make personal appearances. The night before, Nordstrom and Vogue are hosting a cocktail party at the same venue to fete the New Yorkers for Children fall gala, which takes place on Sept. 16.

FLY ON THE WALL: Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoë honored Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg with the city's prestigious Grand Vermeil decoration in a ceremony Thursday at the town hall. During the ceremony, Delanoë said he was looking forward to seeing Cronenberg's stage direction of his first opera in Paris, "The Fly," which opens next month. Delanoë also presented the lineup for the Paris Film Festival, which runs July 1 to 12. Charlotte Rampling, currently shooting a Cécile Telerman film called "La Faute Des Mères," or "Mother's Fault," is set to be the festival's president. "It's the occasion for me to take the time to see lots of movies," Rampling said.
