GEM PALACE: Siegelson, the 88-year-old fine jewelry firm, is partaking in the 16th Annual Kennedy Center Gala celebrating The Art of Film Music, which takes place on Sunday in Washington. The jeweler has partnered with Neiman Marcus-Mazza Gallerie in Washington, which is outfitting several models in designer gowns including ones from Naeem Khan, Carolina Herrera and Yves Saint Laurent. The black-tie event, which honors Stephen Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and John Williams, will begin at 5 p.m. with a reception where the models will don some extraordinary jewelry pieces, including a pair of diamond and amethyst ear pendants and an Art Deco, gem-studded bracelet.

BFF: Since Olivier Theyskens designed Lauren Santo Domingo's wedding dress for her sumptuous affair this past January, it seems only fair that the newlywed will help return the favor. This coming Monday, Santo Domingo and the Nina Ricci designer will cohost an after party following the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Ball at chic uptown eatery Philippe. Three hundred guests are expected — which is a couple fewer than attended Santo Domingo's nuptials, so she may have some more co-hostess duties in her future.

HOTFOOTING TO CANNES: Sergio Rossi is joining the foot parade at the 61st Cannes Film Festival. Creative director Edmundo Castillo has designed 150 pairs of gold and silver bow-adorned satin platform sandals, which will retail at Rossi's New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Rome, London and Paris stores when the fest kicks off on May 14. The shoes may also show up on leading ladies in Cannes such as Julianne Moore (star of the opening film, "Blindness"), Gwyneth Paltrow (who stars in "Two Lovers") and Robin Wright Penn (star of fest closer "What Just Happened" costarring her husband Sean Penn, who is also heading the jury). In other Croisette fashion news, Balenciaga is slated to open a location there and Bottega Veneta will host "The Knot: A Retrospective" to honor its signature clutch.
