AIR FRANCE: If Ralph Rucci is planning to fly the coop from this fall's New York Fashion Week in favor of Paris' — that's the word on the street — he's not saying. The designer behind the Chado Ralph Rucci label is said to be planning to show in the City of Light in October, but company executives declined comment Wednesday. Paris is old hat for Rucci, who has been showing his couture collection there since Paris' Chambre Syndicale invited him to do so in 2002.
LILY OF LONDON: The launch of Lily Allen's collection of dresses for New Look Tuesday didn't attract quite the throng of fans who turned out to see Kate Moss flog her line at Topshop last week. However, guests at the party for the debut of the Lily Loves collection did get a performance of Allen's reggae-infused hits thrown in with their mojitos. The singer — who wore a variety of flouncy dresses throughout the evening — performed songs from her album "Alright, Still" on a temporary stage set up at New Look's Oxford Street flagship. In between sets, guests eagerly scooped up the dresses, which included a frilled, tiered strapless ballgown and printed smock dresses, all at a 10 percent discount. "My favorite is the black floral one I just wore on stage," said the pint-size Allen later in the evening. She also cooly dismissed comparisons with Moss' collection, saying, "We're two completely different people."
