EAT AND GREET: The Ladies Who Lunch did so Thursday afternoon at Daniel for the release of "Park Avenue Potluck: Recipes From New York's Savviest Hostesses," a tome benefiting the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Over hors d'oeuvres, which included Daniel Boulud's take on the cookbook's recipes, the room was, naturally, abuzz with talk of food. "My ratatouille is a party in your mouth," boasted Sarah Powers as she munched on Coco Kopelman's Maryland Crabmeat Spread. Muffie Potter Aston divulged the story of her own contribution: "I cannot cook at all," she said, "but there is one chicken dish — which I now call Muffie Chicken."

The night before, Friends of the High Line hosted their seventh annual summer bash at the Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building, followed by a Domino magazine-sponsored after party. Supporters included Elizabeth Banks, Andrew Rosen and Jonathan Adler, who was very pro-project. "It's a groovy cause," he said. "Who doesn't want more green in New York?"

OH, MANDY: "Guys suck," declared an all-grown-up Mandy Moore, channeling Joni Mitchell clad in a vintage black, floor-grazing dress at Joe's Pub on Thursday night before belting out "Nothing That You Are," a song from her new album "Wild Hope." Moore did a set from the new album and also performed a cover of one of Mitchell's songs, as well as "Moonshadow" by Cat Stevens. Coach president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff, the evening's host, photographed Moore for the invitation and had several portraits on display. "It's always been my dream to play here," said Moore to the intimate crowd. "It's really full circle for me tonight."
