SAKS' GIANT DAY: Saks Fifth Avenue honored Angie Harmon and her husband, Jason Sehorn, with the Champions for Children Award at its 20th annual Colleagues Spring Luncheon last Wednesday at the Beverly Wilshire. Nancy Reagan pal Betsy Bloomingdale eschewed the long line at valet and parked on the street, weaving through the cars idling in the hotel's driveway. Meanwhile, part of the traffic snarl was caused by the arrival of Reagan's burgundy limo, for which all other cars were halted. "It's just beyond surreal," Harmon said of taking the former first lady by the hand and leading her through the crowded VIP cocktail reception. "Jason and I were in grade school when she was in the White House so to us, she's like the first first lady." Sehorn, the former NFL star, is rarely seen with his party-loving wife at events about town. "She's the social butterfly. I prefer to pick and choose," he said. "For example, the Jimmy Choo party...I thought I could pass." Sehorn did see a familiar face in Kate Mara, who met him when he played for the team then-owned by her late grandfather, the New York Giants. "I must admit, I came here because I wanted to see the entire Oscar de la Renta collection," Mara said (the house presented its fall collection during lunch, and outfitted both Mara and Harmon), "but it's always nice to see Giants players as well."
A GROWING CLAN: Carolina Herrera Jr., who is her mother's senior fragrance adviser and occasional ad face, is expecting her third child with husband Miguel Baez, a retired bullfighter, according to the Spanish weekly Hola. The Baezes split their time between Madrid (they're often spotted on Serrano, the capital's main shopping thoroughfare, with their two children — Olimpia de la Concepcíon, age 3, and almost 2-year-old Miguel Jr. — and the family dog) and Litri's bull ranch in Spain's western province of Cáceres, where the couple married four years ago.
NY-LON: New Bond Street may represent the very essence of London shopping, but on Thursday it took on a bit of New York flair. DKNY Jeans celebrated the launch of its first European flagship with Cosmopolitans, "Big Apple" cookies, and mini-hotdogs and burgers. The crowd, by contrast, had a distinctly British feel, with young acting talents on hand including Benedict Cumberbatch, Nathalie Press, Talulah Riley and Anna Popplewell, who stars in the "Narnia" trilogy. London band The Paddingtons entertained the crowd.
