CANNES' GRAND DAME: Jeanne Moreau may forever be remembered in her role as the youthful, free-spirited heroine of François Truffaut's "Jules et Jim," but a glitzy bash feting a vintage 60 years in the business for the veteran actress looks set to be one of the hottest tickets at the Cannes Film Festival next month. The event, organized by Gala magazine and ADR Prod, will be held at the Majestic Beach on May 17.

LOVE AT LORD & TAYLOR: Can love happen on the main floor of Lord & Taylor? In the movies, for sure. Hollywood is taking over Lord & Taylor's Fifth Avenue flagship today to shoot a pivotal scene for the film "Duplicity," directed by Tony Gilroy and starring Julia Roberts and Clive Owen as corporate spies for rival firms who meet and fall in love at first sight. The store will remain closed until 1 p.m.

According to a source close to the project, Lord & Taylor wasn't in the original script; another department store not far uptown was. But when Gilroy, cinematographer Robert Elswit and the locations manager cut through L&T's main floor en route to scout Blaggard's Tavern nearby, they were impressed by the store's vaulted ceilings, chandeliers and mirrored columns. The team felt it made the perfect setting for where the romantic pair meet, exchange words and exit together through the 38th Street door, where they continue to chat under the awning before hitting Blaggard's. The bar scene was already filmed.

IF THE SHOE FITS: "I have more of his shoes than in the exhibition." So joked Diane von Furstenberg in introducing her close friend Christian Louboutin at a talk he gave last Wednesday evening at FIT, which is currently holding an exhibit of his footwear. She wasn't the only Louboutin enthusiast in the crowd. In a charming anecdotal manner, the designer ran through his 16-year career, starting at the beginning with his years as a teen interning at the Folies Bergère in Paris. (Fun fact: the ladies would stuff veal carpaccio into their soles for padded comfort.) When he began talking about his 1994 "Trash" shoes, which were covered in a collage of dreck like train stubs and gum wrappers, a brunette called out that she was wearing a pair and proceeded to pass one around.
