NEW ROLES: One wouldn't think Vogue's Sally Singer, Meredith Melling-Burke and Virginia Smith would make very good bodyguards, but they made do for Kate Bosworth. The trio ushered the flaxen-haired starlet amid the throngs of paparazzi into the Rag & Bone show at Cipriani on Wednesday. The "Superman Returns" star is said to be working on a diary and photo shoot for an upcoming issue of Vogue. Her thoughts? "I really liked the show." But the Bos was mum on details about her upcoming partnership with the glossy.
Meanwhile, Amanda Peet — dressed in Rag & Bone and the same pair of Jill Stuart mary jane stilettos she donned at the Glamour magazine fete the night before ("You wouldn't think, but they're incredibly comfortable. I don't know if I'll wear them all week," she said) — showed off her favorite accessory: a golden locket with her daughter Frances' picture inside. The locket was a gift from Kaviar and Kind co-owner Sunrise Ruffalo (wife of actor Mark Ruffalo).
MOD WORLD: Monica Bellucci is certainly a fashion girl and can't resist the appeal of fashion week front rows. "I'll try to make it to a few shows," the actress said as she breezed into the Paris premiere, in flowing Christian Dior, of her latest film, "The Second Breath." Based on a José Giovanni novel, the film is about a famous gangster (played by Daniel Auteuil) and his girlfriend, played by Bellucci. Since it's set in the Sixties, Bellucci gets to try out a bouffant hairstyle, cat-eye makeup and plenty of form-fitting suits and dresses. The screening was followed by a charity dinner given in aid of the Claude Pompidou Foundation, which helps the elderly and handicapped. Marisa Berenson and Delphine and Antoine Arnault were among the guests welcomed by Bernadette Chirac, who succeeds the late Claude Pompidou as the head of the foundation.
