Tod's Heritage Concept, Undercover to Design a Candle...

Tod’s in its Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship will open its first customization corner dedicated to its Tod’s Icons collection.

FAMILY TIES: Fashion week festivities kicked off Wednesday night in Paris with the London crowd squeezing into Le Baron for Gareth Pugh’s post-show party while across town, guests including Pixie Geldof and Carmen Kass took in singer Cassie’s performance at the VIP room.

 

Pugh, who had his mom, dad and aunt in tow, said he was surprised by the newest member of his fan club: Sean “Diddy” Combs, who attended his show. “I didn’t know he was [a fan] I’d never met him before” the designer marveled.

 

Meanwhile, fashion week pro Leigh Lezark certainly knows how to pace herself for the parties. “It’s only the first night, I can’t die,” the deejay said as she ducked out early.



UNDERCOVER EAUX: Faux fur flew at Undercover’s party for its first scents Wednesday night, as the label’s designer Jun Takahashi treated guests to a live demonstration of his doll-making skills.

 

 

L’Eclaireur’s Rue de Sevigné store was a flurry of teddy bears, lace, light bulbs and wire, which Takahashi transformed into a three-foot high creature in under an hour. “I’m no good at performing in public,” the designer confessed afterward. His brand’s new vintage-style fragrances, called Holygrace and Holygrapie, were done in collaboration with Comme des Garçons and are due out in May.

 

The scents were inspired by dolls, his longtime hobby. Next up for Undercover is a candle with Cire Trudon. Meanwhile, L’Eclaireur’s owner Armand Hadida demonstrated his latest toy, “I Lock you,” a handy metal device to attach a bag to a chair or a bike to thwart would-be thieves. “This is the invention women have been waiting for,” declared Hadida, adding he plans to tap fashion houses to create customized versions of the accessory.


GETTING PERSONAL: Among a growing number of brands tunring up the spotlight on heritage, Tod’s today in its Faubourg Saint-Honoré flagship will open its first customization corner dedicated to its Tod’s Icons collection. The concept, which allows customers to personalize men's and women's pieces from the line's D Bag, Gommino and Ballerina ranges in a selection of exotic skins, is expected to move to other flagships worldwide.



ROGER THAT:
After 18 years in public relations at Gucci in Europe, Christina Malgara is moving over to Roger Vivier as its global communications manager, starting in May. She will report to Vivier’s brand general manager, Sabine Brunner. Most recently, Malgara was director of public relations for Gucci in France, Monaco, Belgium, Germany and Spain.
