FABULOUS SOMEBODY: “The September Issue” director R.J. Cutler, along with Colac Pictures producers Julie Anne Quay and Gail Lyon, are now casting for their film adaptation of the 1986 novel “Fabulous Nobodies.” The trio are aiming to land a stylish twentysomething actress for the lead role of Reality Nirvana Tuttle, a fashion-obsessed door girl at a downtown nightclub in Eighties Manhattan. “It’s ‘Emma’ meets ‘Clueless,’” explained Quay, the former executive editor of V magazine who optioned movie rights to the book, authored by former Vogue Australia editor in chief Lee Tulloch. Lyon’s producing credits include “Erin Brockovich,” “Gattaca” and “Stuart Little 2,” and the partners have a finished screenplay by Mark Fortin and Josh Miller, which is being sent to agents. Quay has been working on ramping up production on the project since 2008 and is aiming to start filming by this fall.
