SCOUT’S HONOR: The Duchess of Cambridge embarked on her first adventure training course with a British Scout camp in the Lake District National Park on Friday. A volunteer for the Scout Association, the duchess traveled to the Great Tower Scout Camp near Newby Bridge in Cumbria, England with a group of skilled volunteers to assist the Beaver and Cub Scouts.

The mother-to-be geared up for the snowy weather in an army green parka-style jacket, skinny jeans, baker boy hat, Le Chameau wellies and a scout scarf. The former Brownie used her own expertise as a volunteer to accompany the group of 24 Cub Scouts from Cumbria and Manchester.

The pack holiday event included climbing, cooking, and other outdoor activities. Kate was hand’s-on as she joined her troop in learning how to make twisters, a campfire snack made up of flour, water, oil and sugar. After kneading and twisting the dough, the group sat around the campfire toasting their treats. “I’m not sure if these are going to look particularly edible,” she told the Press Association. “Oh, it’s actually not bad,” she said after taking a bite. “It’s quite sugary though.”
