CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Hosts Downtown Dinner

Editors, designers, mentors and muses gathered at Locanda Verde in TriBeCa to toast this year’s winner, Joseph Altuzarra.

DOWNTOWN DINNER CLUB: Editors, designers, mentors and muses gathered at Locanda Verde in TriBeCa Wednesday night for a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner hosted by Vogue and J. Crew to toast this year’s winner, Joseph Altuzarra, and runners-up Pamela Love and Shane Gabier and Chris Peters of Creatures of the Wind. With the weather not quite springy enough to open up the garden, guests, including Iris Apfel, Lily Kwong, Jenna Lyons, Millard “Mickey” Drexler and Derek Lam, huddled by the door and did the ol’ small-talk song and dance. That was fine by Tom Mora, J. Crew’s head of women’s design, who had just been introduced to Max Osterweis of Suno and Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs of Cushnie et Ochs. “Those girls look like models,” said Mora, adding that he had worked closely with Altuzarra, Love and Gabier and Peters on forthcoming capsule collections each have designed for J. Crew.
