Lela Rose's World Series Dinner

The designer, whose father, Rusty, was an owner of the Texas Rangers, will host a seated dinner for 70 tonight at her TriBeCa home.

DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS: The World Series is generally not must-see TV for the fashion flock but don’t tell Lela Rose that. The designer, whose father, Rusty, was an owner of the Texas Rangers, is hosting a seated dinner for 70 at her TriBeCa home tonight, the date Game 6 was originally scheduled. As it turns out, she won’t miss a pitch since the game has been postponed to Thursday due to the forecast of rain. Rather than subject Jake Gyllenhaal and other guests to every last pitch, Rose planned to keep score on her iPhone. “I can’t believe that this could be our first ever World Series win and it could happen the same night as the Edible Schoolyard dinner,” she said before the game was postponed.
