SPANISH INVASION: A flock of Spanish designers flooded into the Victoria and Albert Museum Monday night for a gala hosted by The Fashion Designers Council of Spain to showcase the country’s design talent. Michelin-starred Spanish chef Sergi Arola treated guests, including Stephen Jones, Harold Tillman and Melissa Odabash to tapas-style canapés while others admired the designers’ creations displayed on mannequins in the museum’s cavernous atriums. “The yellow one is fun,” said Jones, pointing to a sculptured canary yellow minidress by Modesto Lomba, who also heads Spain’s Fashion Council. Jones will be in the museum’s spotlight early next year when “Hats: An Anthology” opens there in February.
