CARVEN CALLING: Barneys New York and Carven have initiated a major promotional push for the Carven summer collection, so in the last four days designer Guillaume Henry has crisscrossed the country making his first personal appearances since taking over as creative director of Carven in 2009.
Friday afternoon saw the designer at Barneys in San Francisco. Vanessa Getty invited 80 friends to view the store’s buy of Carven pieces, including OJ Shansby, Deepa Pakianathan, Marcy Carmack and Summer Tompkins Walker. The party continued Friday evening, when 20 members of Getty’s gang honored the designer with a dinner at the bay-view cafe, Boulette’s Larder.
“Women in San Francisco are fashion connoisseurs and collectors,” said Henry. “It’s my first trip to California and it’s so exciting that everyone loves Carven.”
