Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana Partner With Metropolitan Opera

The designers have decided to partner with the opera to offer Met Titles in Italian for Italian-language works.

OPERA ITALIANO: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have always shared a passion for opera, at times a source of inspiration for some of their designs. It is not surprising, then, that the two Italian designers, along with the support of the Consulate General of Italy, have decided to partner with the Metropolitan Opera to offer Met Titles in Italian for Italian-language works. This is a first, as the opera’s text was previously transmitted onto individual seat-back screens only in English, German and Spanish.

The new collaboration will span throughout the opera’s 2012-2013 season, which opens on Sept. 24 with Gaetano Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore.”
