STYLE ICON: “I want to introduce a new generation to Madame Vreeland,” explained Lisa Immordino Vreeland about her motive for creating the film “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel,” which commemorates her grandmother-in-law, late legendary fashion icon Diana Vreeland. The accompanying book was launched in Berlin on Wednesday at the city’s Galeries Lafayette department store, alongside an exhibition of photographs of Vreeland.

“I think I found images of her that no one ever knew about when I was researching this book, so it was a great project. She was such a character,” said Lisa Immordino Vreeland.

So far, Vreeland said her favorite part of visiting Berlin was “meeting all the wonderful fashion students at the Esmod fashion school. This city seems to have some great young talent, and I loved telling them about the old great fashion photographers.”
