Designers Support Wear New York Week

More than 40 local designers have signed up for the event, which will be held from June 24-28, to drum up interest in New York-made goods.

DRESSING FOR THE CITY: Alicia Silverstone and Robin Givhan are among the supporters of Wear New York Week, an initiative designed to drum up interest in New York-made goods. More than 40 local designers have signed up for the event, which will be held from June 24-28. Sponsored by GoJee, a Web site that specializes in New York-made items, Wear New York Week is meant to get shopper energized about Gotham-based labels. Gojee’s Michael Lavelle and Olympic-fencer-turned-model Tim Morehouse came up with the concept. E! News correspondent Alicia Quarles will host a fashion show and party June 27 with Patrick McMullan at GoJee’s Tribeca headquarters.
