DESIGNER TREES: Fashion journalist Marie-Christiane Marek unveiled on Thursday night the designer Christmas trees that will be auctioned off for charity at Paris’ Hôtel Salmon de Rothschild on Dec. 5. For the event this year, an eclectic cast of designers and brands, including Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior, Barbara Rhil and Olivia Putman, put their touches on the sparkling creations. Gaultier’s tree was constructed out of green tassels wrapped around rods to imitate branches. Meanwhile, Dior’s tree resembled ruffles made out of silver-hued metal lit with gold-colored light. The Christmas trees will remain on display until Dec. 7.
