DESERT STORM: Among the brands marketing around the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year are returning festival sponsor H&M, which will host a La Quinta pool party on April 13 as well as a tent on the Indio, Calif., festival grounds April 12-14; Forever 21’s Desert Disco at the Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs and ShopBazaar.com at the Parker Palm Springs on Friday; Diesel+Edun, which will celebrate their collaboration with a musical event called Studio Africa in La Quinta that night; A/X Armani Exchange’s post-concert Neon Carnival at the Thermal Airport on Saturday night; and Saturday and Sunday pool parties hosted by Guess at the Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs, and Lacoste an estate in Thermal, Calif. Missing this year is Mulberry, whose musical weekend at the Parker Palm Spring was a much-loved event for young hipsters, but word has it that the company is trying to focus its marketing efforts on an older luxury clientele, not to mention save a few pounds in the process.
