ROWLEY LAUNCHES BAGS: Cynthia Rowley is getting in the handbag game. The designer has entered a license agreement with Highline United for a collection of women’s contemporary handbags, due out for Spring 2015.
“I’m thrilled to now be able to offer handbags that have the same pretty and sporty attributes as our apparel collection,” Rowley said. Rowley’s initial offering will include a range of styles, such as minaudieres, satchels, totes and backpacks. Prices range from $175 – $350, and will be sold in Cynthia Rowley stores, as well as select specialty stores.
The collection also marks Highline United’s first handbag license since launching its in-house handbag division and eponymous line in December 2013. “We wanted Cynthia Rowley as our first handbag license because of the exciting prints and innovative materials she uses in her women’s ready-to-wear collection,” said president Kenny Horowitz. Highline United also produces footwear for labels Ash, Luxury Rebel, French Connection and Elie Tahari, among others.
