COWBOY CHIC: The old American West inspired Antonio D’Amico and Massimo Lotti’s new denim line called Pump, but the jeans have more in common with the glittering vibe of contemporary Dallas.

Introduced last week at Samuel Lynne Galleries, Pump offers eye-catching styles that were shot through with sparkling micro gold studs. And if that isn’t shiny enough, solid waxed metallic gold is another option. Elaborate pocket embroidery that resembles western saddle stitching flashes the designers’ tribute to cowboy culture. “We thought about boots, saddlery,” Lotti said. “I am the only Italian I know who listens to country music.”

The designers covered key silhouettes — skinny, boot, jegging, capri — and solid washes from dark to palest blue as well as soft pastel hues of pistachio, lavender, blush and white. Men’s styles, also fitted very close to the body, come in a range of washes and a lightweight denim similar to twill. The styles are made and hand finished inside and out at a specialty denim factory in Italy that is “able to do anything in jeans,” D’Amico said. Basic styles wholesale from $61 while the glitziest numbers rise to $227.

“They are very city jeans but with the idea of country chic,” D’Amico said.
