COME BACK: Four years after she shuttered her store in West Hollywood, Hayley Starr is back in the retail business. The Los Angeles designer known for her infinite dress collection, which includes a skirt dress she claims can be worn 117 ways, has opened a store and studio at 2122 Lincoln Boulevard in Venice. “All of my customers were saying, ‘Where is your stuff? I need your stuff,’’’ said Starr. “I wanted to find a space that was a studio where I could work and share the things that I love with people.”
The 1,200-square-foot studio and store contains dresses priced from $160 to $260, as well as one-of-a-kind dresses priced from $220 to $380. There are also vintage finds and a smattering of brands that Starr admires, notably apparel labels The Battalion, NicoNico and Suburban Riot, jewelry brands All for the Mountain and Campbell, and beauty brands Essential Faith and Oxygen Botanicals.
Starr plans to regularly hold classes and events at the Lincoln Boulevard store and studio, and invite a new artist each month to display pieces on its walls.
