FIVE DECADE FETE: Coin’s Milan flagship store on Piazza V Giornate kicked off its 50th anniversary celebrations with a special appearance by Robbie Williams last week for the launch of his clothing line on the Italian market.
The nine-story department store, which was revamped in 2008 through a $16 million facelift, previously introduced Paris Hilton’s clothing line in 2008, and the Milla Jovovich bag designed with Tommy Hilfiger for Breast Health International in 2010.
Named after the British singer’s grandfather, Jack Farrell, the “Farrell” men’s wear line was conceived by Williams but is designed by former Burberry men’s design director Ben Dickens, and consists of easy to wear pieces crafted with fabrics produced in the U.K.
The fall/winter 2012 collection, sold exclusively at Coin’s Milan and Florence main flagship stores, offers 50 British-inspired pieces, including trenches, pea coats, shirts and cable-knit sweaters with prices ranging from 120 euros, or $156 at current exchange rate, to 300 euros, or $390.
