Coast Show Coming to Manhattan

The contemporary trade show with quarterly and biannual events in Miami and Chicago respectively expands to SoHo’s 82 Mercer venue.

HITTING MANHATTAN: Coast is coming to New York. The contemporary trade show with quarterly and biannual events in Miami and Chicago, respectively, expands to SoHo’s 82 Mercer venue Sept. 19 to 20. About 300 collections will be exhibited in 114 booths in the show’s open format, with a DJ and other amenities, according to founder Karen Bennett.

“It’s a way to entice retailers who complained that huge shows weren’t manageable back into the city,” she said.

Bennett is shooting for a juried mix of established and emerging designers, as well as a wide representation of categories. Complimentary shuttles will run to the Javits Center and Capsule at Pier 36. A second New York event is planned for February 2013.
