Diego Della Valle Unveils High-Speed Train Service

The Tod’s chief developed the NTV Italo with Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.

CHOO CHOO: Tod’s chief Diego Della Valle on Saturday welcomed a group of Italian entrepreneurs and politicians on board the NTV Italo, a new high-speed train service he has developed with Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo. High-profile guests invited to test the 75-minute trip from Bologna to Milan included Italy’s Minister of Tourism, Piero Gnudi; Alberto Bombassei, chairman of Brembo, which produces top automotive break systems for high-performance cars including Ferrari; Gaetano Miccichè, head of bank Intesa Sanpaolo, and Federico Ghizzoni, chief executive officer of bank UniCredit Group.

The trains will run through nine cities and 12 stations, including Milan, Rome, Venice, Florence and Naples. While keeping an eye on sustainability and prices for different wallets, the train promises to be a traveling feast, boasting seats with Poltrona Frau hides; gourmet Eataly delicacies; a cinema coach, and free Internet Wi-Fi.
