CHARITABLE ANNIVERSARY: Renzo Rosso celebrated the 35th anniversary of Diesel on Monday by donating 555,000 euros, or $746,550 at current exchange, to the Only the Brave Foundation, the nonprofit organization of Diesel’s parent company OTB supporting sustainable and innovative projects across the world, with a focus on Africa. Rosso explained his decision in a letter posted on Diesel’s pages on the most important social networks, including Facebook and Twitter.
“Thirty-five years ago, the most incredible adventure of my life started: Diesel. Thirty-five years of creativity, courage, passion and fun. We changed the rules of the market, marketing, sales and design: We contributed to change the fashion industry,” he wrote. “It’s a known fact that when it comes to celebrate we have no competitors, but this time we have decided to celebrate such an important anniversary in a different way…because there is nothing more courageous then trying to make the world a better place.”
