Celebrity-Packed Night of Stars... Lanvin's Renoir for Sale... Buckle Bling...

SHINING STARS: The Fashion Group International’s annual Night of Stars is finalizing its list of presenters. In the fashion category, Ashley Olsen will hand the trophy to Francisco Costa; Kate Bosworth, to Christopher Bailey; Stefano Tonchi, to Carla Sozzani, and Jonathan Newhouse, to Franca Sozzani. In beauty, Bruce Weber will present the award to Bobbi Brown. In entertainment, Tim Gunn will hand the honor to Harvey Weinstein, and Marcia Gay Harden will give the Sustainability award to John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell. Rosemarie Bravo will present the Corporate Leadership award to Net-a-porter.com’s Natalie Massenet, and Mariska Hargitay, the Humanitarian award to Bill McComb for the Liz Claiborne Foundation. Finally, Karl Lagerfeld, who will be in town that week for the unveiling of Chanel’s Mobile Art installation and exhibit in Central Park, will attend to give the 2008 Hudson’s Bay Trading Company Fashion Oracle award to the Costume Institute’s Harold Koda. Simon Doonan will return as the host for the “The Alchemists”-themed gala, which will take place at Cipriani 55 Wall Street on Oct. 23.

ART START: Christie’s in Paris has laid its hands on a formidable stash of paintings once belonging to Lanvin founder Jeanne Lanvin. Sold to a private collector in 1958, the bounty includes 31 Impressionist and Modernist works by the likes of Boudin, Renoir, Bonnard, Degas and Vuillard, as well as one Picasso from 1922. The works are due to go under the hammer Dec. 1. It is estimated that the sale will generate around 30 million euros, or $40.3 million at current exchange.

BUCKLE BLING: British jeweler David Morris has chosen shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey to create a limited edition shoe with a fine jewelry strap and decoration. The design is available at David Morris globally and is aptly dubbed Fyren, the Old English word for “sin.” The shoes, classic sandals, are available in black, crimson and tobacco crocodile, and are adorned with a detachable gold ankle chain and a 16-millimeter diamond pendant. Prices are available on application.

GOING FOR BAROQUE: Caravaggio is not an easy name to carry for an artist, given the fame of the 17th-century painter, but works by the contemporary Gianni Caravaggio will be showcased at Max Mara’s Collezione Maramotti space at the end of November, Max Mara chairman Luigi Maramotti said on the sidelines of the show Thursday. The Collezione Maramotti comprises more than 600 works by contemporary artists assembled by the Maramotti family, and displays more than 200 works in 43 rooms in the former Max Mara manufacturing plant in Reggio Emilia, east of Milan.
