Athletes are the new celebrities, or so says Cole Haan which marked the launch of its new Sporting collection with ambassador Maria Sharapova as well as Olympic gold medalist, gymnast Nastia Liukin, with a party at the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel. The blonde phenoms have both been taking in shows such as Peter Som on Tuesday.
"They sat me next to Maria at the show so she's been showing me the ropes," said Liukin, clad in a silver Som dress. Liukin is quite a fashionista herself having recently launched her own apparel line. "My mother and I design all of my uniforms so its something I love being a part of."
As for Sharapova, she only jetted in to launch her new line with Cole Haan before departing. "I love going to all the shows but I travel too much," she said.
