MARINA B’S HIRES: Marina B has added some jewelry industry veterans to its roster. The 35-year-old fine jeweler has tapped Catherine Bové as its president and Mona Nagib as its director of sales. Both executives will be based in New York and report to chief executive officer Paul Lubetsky, who acquired the brand in 2010. Lubetsky also is the owner and ceo of Windsor Jewelers Inc.
Most recently, Bové served as director of retail of Chopard USA and previously worked under Marina B founder Marina Bulgari, as director from 1996 to 2000. She also worked at luxury brands including Bulgari, Chanel Fine Jewelry and David Yurman. In her new role, Bové will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the firm, overseeing retail expansion, branding and communication. Her priorities will include “accelerating wholesale sales growth, opening new retail locations and leveraging Marina B’s rich heritage and international reputation as the ‘jeweler to the stars,’” according to the company.
Nagib will also rejoin Marina B, where she began her career in 1999. Recently, Nagib served as a consultant to international, luxury, contemporary and antique jewelry companies where she focused on product and brand development, in addition to acquisition and sale.
“Marina B is extremely fortunate to have someone of Catherine’s caliber join our team in a leadership capacity,” said Lubetsky. “She is an industry veteran and has an incredible track record of retail growth. I am confidentthat Catherine can take our business to the next level and penetrate new markets. We are excited for Catherine and Mona to join our team, help re-establish Marina B’s as a leading fine jewelry house and continue to guide and develop our evolving company.”
