Jamie Burke and Eva Mendes

The front row at Calvin Klein's afternoon show was packed with actresses, including house face Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, Molly Sims, Kerry Washington, Alice Braga and Thandie Newton.

Mendes, who was on a break from prepping her latest movie, “The Other Guys,” with Will Ferrell, said she’s proud of the Calvin Klein Underwear billboards that are plastered across the city. “I think they're beautiful," she said. "I grew up with the Calvin Klein campaigns, so now, to be a part of their legacy—they have a very provocative and controversial legacy— I feel honored.”

Both Washington and Byrne were also playing a little hooky from work: the former is in New York preparing for a role in the Broadway production of David Mamet's "Race," which will open in December, while the latter is gearing up for the third season of FX’s “Damages.”

“It can get a little frenetic with fashion week, but New York is always the best,” said Byrne.

Meanwhile, Londoner Newton was in town for just 24 hours, but her exertions were payback for the house’s longtime support. “Calvin Klein was the very first fashion house to dress me when I was 21. It was a Cinderella moment,” she said. “Having a designer approach you when you are really young and haven’t got a name for yourself showed such faith and support.”

She’s also a fashion fan, and just finished a video with jeweler Solange Azagury-Partridge. “I’m drawn to artists,” said Newton. “I’m lucky because I move in this world, so I don’t just shop in the store, I get to know the designer as well.”

Also getting attention from the fashion flock was Peter Brant’s son, Peter Brant 2nd, with two friends in tow. The 10th-grader fit the Calvin Klein presentation into his Greenwich High schedule. “I couldn’t go to more shows because I had school,” he said.
