FROM HERE TO ETERNITY: Francisco Costa won’t be at the New York City Marathon starting line Nov. 3, when Christy Turlington Burns sets off on the 26.2-mile trek to raise money for her charity Every Mother Counts. But Calvin Klein Inc. is sponsoring the model, who appears in the house’s current underwear campaign, and her 50-person team as they strive to raise awareness and support for better maternal and child health. Sugarland’s Thad Beaty and Oiselle’s founder Sally Bergesen will be trying to go the distance with the EMC runners — half of whom had planned to run last year before the race was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath.
A longtime Calvin Klein model for various categories including its Eternity fragrance, Turlington Burns said vie e-mail Monday that the company came on board right away last spring. Her family will be another source of moral support. While her husband Ed Burns “really isn’t that interested in running long distance, he is a great supporter of all of us!” she said.
