Woodley & Bunny Shutters Brooklyn Location

In April, the indie beauty boutique and salon closed a Los Angeles outpost due to its lease ending.

BYE, BYE BEAUTY: Indie beauty boutique and salon Woodley & Bunny has shuttered its Brooklyn doors. According to Jennipher Van Bogart, a hair stylist at the salon, she and her colleagues found out on May 3 and the apothecary closed that Monday. “They took a lot of risks and they did a lot of really great things and some didn’t work out,” said Van Bogart. “[Misha Anderson, ceo and president] was doing things differently prioritywise and she has young kids. None of us actually know the reason.”

Woodley & Bunny brought its indie mix of beauty products to Williamsburg starting in 2005 and was known for bringing and distributing upstart brands from around the world. Those carried included Brad Biophotonic Skin Care, RMS Beauty, Christophe Robin, Ilia, Ellis Faas, Kjaer Weis and Indie Lee.

“Since 2008, when RMS Beauty and Woodley & Bunny’s relationship began, we’ve seen their shops help to alter the natural and organic beauty landscape by offering brands that were high quality, healthy and accessible to an audience that was eager to listen and seeking a way to break away from the mass,” said Rose-Marie Swift, makeup artist and founder of RMS Beauty.
