RIVIERA AFFAIR: After Cannes and Monte Carlo, Bulgari has opened a store in Saint-Tropez.
The entrance of the jeweler’s two-story boutique next to the Place de la Garonne features a star etched into the floor in blue sodalite, as an echo to the onyx one in the Bulgari store in Rome.
Mediterranean touches abound, from the Italianate facade to the sand-colored walls, azure silk panels and terrazzo floor. Interior design touches include chairs created by Verner Panton and Gio Ponti, in addition to FontanaArte bronze-and-glass wall lamps.
The 750-square-foot unit offers the Serpenti and B.zero1 jewelry lines; watches including the Serpenti Tubogas for women and the Octo for men, and evening accessories such as lacquer and enamel minaudieres and crystal-embroidered clutches.
Bulgari celebrated the opening of the store on Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Hilary Swank, Juliette Binoche and Jeremy Irons, followed by a dinner in the gardens of the Pan Deï hotel.
