British Fashion Council Names Newgen Men's Labels

New to the sponsorship program this season are designers Alex Mullins and Craig Green.

LONDON’S NEWGEN MEN: The British Fashion Council has named the ten London men’s labels that will receive its Newgen Men funding and mentoring for the spring 2015 season. New to the sponsorship program this season are designers Alex Mullins and Craig Green. They join the labels that are current Newgen recipients — Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen, Common, Diego Vanassibara, Kit Neale, Lee Roach, Matthew Miller and Nasir Mazhar. Caroline Rush, chief executive of the BFC, called the new additions Alex Mullins and Craig Green “two of London’s most exciting emerging names.” Newgen Men, which was launched in September 2009 and is sponsored by Topman, provides designers with sponsorship and showcasing opportunities at the London Collections: Men shows, along with business and mentoring support. The BFC said that for spring 2015, the organization has joined with the law firm DLA Piper to provide the ten Newgen designers with legal and commercial advice.
