BOYLSTON REOPENS: While a few stores remain closed due to damage from last week’s Boston Marathon bombings, for the most part Boylston Street is getting back to business. Lord & Taylor, Eastern Mountain Sports and Marlo Marketing are among the fashion-related businesses that reopened Wednesday. Marathon Sports, the site of the first explosion, and The Tannery remain shuttered while repairs are being made. Pedestrians are now allowed to walk all along Boylston Street, Mayor Thomas Menino has instituted free parking on the street through the weekend and the subway has resumed making stops at Copley.
Marlo Fogelman, founder of Marlo Marketing, is looking into the prospect of having a block party to help the hotels, restaurants and stores affected by the blasts. While there is talk of a Back Bay Association-led initiative to try to rev up sales, the group is now focused on helping the displaced get up and running again, a BBA spokeswoman said.
