FULL HOUSE: Bottega Veneta on Sunday unveiled its first maison, on Milan’s Via Sant’Andrea. Covering 11,448 square feet on two floors in an 18th-century building, the boutique houses all of the brand’s products, including its furniture and home collection.

“This was such a great opportunity; it’s such a beautiful building. It has integrity and it fits into the landscape of the town with its hidden garden behind an austere facade,” said creative director Tomas Maier, who conceived the venue’s blueprint, centering it on the idea of lightness. A glass-encased courtyard is surrounded by vaults and columns in Montorfano stone, with a fountain at its center. “It’s very soothing,” said Maier. Standout elements include walls covered with suede, mohair furniture upholstery with leather details and Wilton wool carpets.

The existing Via Montenapoleone boutique will remain open.
