BOHEMIAN RETAIL RHAPSODY: Haute Hippie has signed a lease to open an 800-square-foot flagship at 1070 Madison Ave., on the corner of 81st Street. The brand on Jan. 27 unveiled a unit at 9 Prince Street between Elizabeth Street and the Bowery in NoLIta. Haute Hippie operates two existing locations in Southampton and Tokyo. The new store will carry Haute Hoodie and Haute Hippie, including everything from embellished skirts and dresses to denim and fur vests to ball gowns as well as jewelry and one-off pieces. The brand is sold in more than 100 U.S. stores and in more than 38 countries worldwide. “The store enables us to speak both to Haute Hippie and Haute Hoodie customer in a truly cohesive way,” said Trish Wescoat Pound, who started Haute Hippie in her Manhattan apartment in 2008 after stints at Theory and Michael Kors. “Not only are we able to show a full range of product, but we can also showcase it in a way that speaks to the lifestyle we design for.” Trever Gallina, a broker at Newmark Knight Frank Retail, represented Haute Hippie.
