BUFFALO SOLDIER: Kate Young keeps adding to her résumé. The celebrity stylist, editorial consultant and — earlier this year — Target guest designer is putting the final touches on a retail installation at Lord & Taylor’s New York store as the second leg of Buffalo David Bitton’s “Blank Check Series,” which kicked off in October with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ documentary footage of their recent world tour. Just as the tour ends Thursday, Young’s shop concept for Buffalo on the ninth floor of L&T will open and stay up into January.

Young told WWD that she’d like to become more involved with design, but “that’s for the future. Right now, I’m focusing on styling and Christmas shopping and the new shop. These side projects are a lot easier because I really don’t sleep much. It’s easy to do inspiration boards when I’m by myself in the morning, and while I’m on a shoot I can always use e-mail to send out my ideas and other people’s.”

The shop took its inspiration from the indigo, white, silver and black prominent in Buffalo’s jeans assortment and will feature a metallic tree draped in hand-dyed wool with denim-wrapped presents underneath. The “Blank Check Series” endows artists to use various media to produce content on Buffalo’s behalf.
