GOOD DEEDS: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Lauren Bush are teaming up to launch for fall the Feed 10 Pouch, the sixth and latest charity bag designed by Bush. The $50 organic makeup bag, filled with three of Brown’s best-selling lip glosses, was developed in partnership with the United Nations World Food Program to benefit its Food for Work program, which provides meals to disadvantaged women who participate in job training programs. Brown and Bush, who met skiing in Telluride, Colo., cohosted a lunch at Brown’s downtown offices Thursday to celebrate the partnership, which Bush called “a dream come true. It’s women supporting women.” The pouch, which can double as a clutch, will be available exclusively at Bloomingdale’s and Bobbi Brown stores come October. It also will be available at bobbibrown.com and bloomingdales.com. According to Bush, each pouch sold will support 10 women in a Food for Work program. The 25-year-old, who designed her first bag to benefit the U.N.’s WFP in 2006, said sales of the Feed bags have provided 50 million meals to date.

SHARP-DRESSED MAN: If fashion favors the young and gorgeous, someone forgot to tell John Varvatos. The men’s wear designer, who looks to vintage rock ’n’ roll for inspiration, selected ZZ Top for his fall advertising campaign. (Last season he went with Franz Ferdinand, a young band, but that was an aberration.) Photographer Danny Clinch shot the bearded band members, who have been together for 40 years, against a life-size nature diorama at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles. The water buffalo in the background alludes to ZZ Top’s 1976 World Wide Texas Tour, a rock extravaganza that brought icons of Texas — including a menagerie of longhorns, vultures and American buffalo — to the world.

FASHION ROCKS: Kanye West was a surprise performer at the Diesel:U:Music concert at New York’s Webster Hall on Thursday evening. A packed house of Diesel customers and fashion industry folk cheered as the hip-hop star joined The Clipse onstage toward the end of the six-hour-long music extravaganza. Also performing were a string of hipster-beloved musicians such as Lykke Li, Passion Pit, The Roots, Theophilus London and The Noisettes. Kicking off the concert were two winners of this year’s Diesel:U:Music emerging talent competition, The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt and Hearts Revolution. Cobra Starship sang its current hit, “Good Girls Go Bad,” which usually features Leighton Meester, but the “Gossip Girl” star was absent due to her shooting schedule. Prior to their set, Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta and Ryland Blackinton — whose girlfriends’ work at Vera Wang and Prabal Gurung, respectively — waxed rhapsodic about the 4-inch Christian Louboutin heels Meester wore to record the song. “Homegirl came in all glossed up, and I purposely wore a crappy flannel and moustache to contrast with her,” joked Saporta, who also bemoaned the shuttering of his favorite men’s wear label, Alexandre Plokhov’s Cloak, two years ago.
