FASHIONABLE HORSEPLAY: It was photographer Ryan McGinley’s idea to shoot Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin’s key visual for this season “in the middle of nowhere. I heard about this ranch in California and became obsessed with the idea of going there," he said. McGinley’s models for the shoot included Karlie Kloss, a Mercedes-Benz CLA car and a white horse, “which was great to work with. Karlie was fun, too. She is a real tomboy,” he added.

The shoot’s creative director Jefferson Hack was also present at the Thursday morning press opening for the image and was full of praise for the photographer’s work. “He is a total optimist but also a cultural rebel, which is rare," said Hack.

Ryan may be best known for his photos of the New York underground scene, but he now seems most comfortable capturing a more natural environment. "I'm just finishing up a book on animal photography, which I am really excited about," he revealed.
