BAGGAGE CLAIM: Tumi has launched its first-ever ongoing collection with an outside designer, New York-based Dror Benshetrit. The eleven-piece Dror for Tumi collection — which includes several styles such as a backpack, a cross-body messenger, a briefcase and a travel kit — incorporates several adaptable features, like a zipperless hard-shell carry-on bag that offers two levels of expansion (eight of the bags transform in some way). The collection, which retails from $195 to $895, will retail at Tumi stores nationwide from April 1 and is available online now at It will also debut in an installation called “Passagio” at the Salone del Mobile at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan on April 17.
