BACK IN BLACK: Chanel, which is putting the spotlight on its iconic jacket as part of a roving exhibition, has chosen a downtown location for the New York leg of “The Little Black Jacket” tour. It is to run from June 8 to 15 at 18 Wooster Street, showcasing 113 photographs by Karl Lagerfeld of a range of women wearing the garment, from model Joan Smalls to artist Yoko Ono. Chanel is also planning window displays at its New York boutiques of jackets from its Paris-Bombay métiers d’art collection. A Steidl tome of the photos, styled by Carine Roitfeld, is due out in the fall. The exhibit wound up its Tokyo debut last month and is traveling to eight countries.
