BACK AGAIN: Years ago, the Los Angeles boutique Satine had a small men’s section curated by Ilaria Urbinati. Now, Urbinati, the stylist and former Satine buyer who opened the store Confederacy with Danny Masterson in the L.A. neighborhood Los Feliz three years ago, is back doing men’s at Satine again. This time she has set up Confederacy Annex at Satine’s 300-square-foot mezzanine, with brands that include Rag & Bone, Gant, Band of Outsiders and Shipley & Halmos.
“It came about pretty organically,” said Satine owner Jeannie Lee. “We have had increasing demand for men’s clothing and accessories, and Confederacy was interested in having a presence on the Westside. In the day and age when collaborations are so in demand, we thought we would shake up the formula and collaborate as two retailers.”
Confederacy Annex is planned to run through February of next year, but Lee said, “If all goes well, we are both open to extending the collaboration beyond February.”
