While a massive moonwalk took place at the Champs de Mars Sunday, designers, too, paid homage to the late Michael Jackson.
For his finale, Sir Paul Smith and his models came dancing down the runway to “Thriller,” while during her men’s wear presentation at Le Meurice hotel, agnès b. founder Agnès Troublé marveled at the way people are paying tribute. “The streets of Paris are filled with people wearing white shirts and black hats. I saw a group — there must have been about 100 of them — of youngsters all dressed like that.”
Troublé once dressed Diego Luna, who played the late Jackson in Harmony Korine’s “Mister Lonely.”
Aside from her latest men’s line, which includes a cotton parka daubed in a graffiti-style print by the artist Jim Shaw, Troublé also launched the Agnès Troublé Otherwise Known as agnès b. Foundation for artistic, humanitarian and ecological projects, at her show.
The first major project is Tara, a boat due to set sail for a three-year voyage to research the world’s ecosystems this September.
