ART AND COMMERCE: Helmut Lang, which has art in its DNA, is teaming up with Grey Area, the online store and gallery founded by Kyle DeWoody and Manish Vora, for holiday. The fashion label designed by Michael and Nicole Colovos will exhibit an installation by artist Shelter Serra called Engine Blocks at its boutiques Nov. 1 to Jan. 17. The project is not just for viewing pleasure — Helmut Lang stores will also offer several gift items curated by Grey Area, which specializes in artist-designed objects. Items for sale will include James DeWoody’s note cards, Michelle Lopez’s Band-Aid rings and Serra’s Fake Roley bracelets.
