ARGENTINE DESIGNERS AT NYFW: Seven top Argentine designers showed highlights of their spring collections at Lincoln Center Friday night. The show, originally developed by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, is in its fourth year and only during the spring collections.
Ambassador José Luis Pérez-Gabilondo, consul general of Argentina, said, “The main goal is to bring Argentine designers to New York to promote their talent and creativity in the international stage.”
Agostina Bianchi, known for her hand-crafted knitwear designs, has shown around the world. This is her first presentation in New York: “For a designer, the best experience is in New York. Being a part of New York Fashion Week is like playing in the big leagues.”
Fabian Zitta, known for designs that play with texture and layers, presented for the second time in New York. He plans to open a showroom in New York next year and counts Pink and Katie Holmes as celebrities who have worn his designs.
