TIMES TO TALBOTS: Look for Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and bestselling author Anna Quindlen on April 24 to be reading from her new book amidst the matte jersey sheaths and baby-cable cardigans at Talbots’ Madison Avenue store. After paging through “Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake” and finding out the author is “a very big fan” of the brand, the match was made by Talbots’ Meredith Paley. The former New York Times columnist will wear Talbots head-to-toe at this month’s event, as well as others in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

Coolmompicks.com’s Liz Gumbinner will host the Upper East side gathering to ensure Quindlen’s voice is heard. Shoppers who drop more than $100 that night will receive a free Yankee Candle, a Talbots-created tie-in sparked by the book’s title.
