LONDON BOUND: Andrew Jennings is on the move again. At the end of December, the peripatetic retailer will vacate his chief executive officer job at Karstadt in Germany with the expiration of his contract and return to London. He’s just lined up a gig as senior retail adviser to the board at Myer department store in Australia, and gets honored today by The Good Guys at the organization’s annual pre-holiday luncheon at The Modern at MoMA in New York. “Whilst I finish my corporate career in Germany in December, I am starting a new chapter with a portfolio of different board, private equity and advisory roles, the first one being Myer,” said Jennings, who has held top slots at Holt Renfrew in Canada, Harrods and House of Fraser in London, Woolworths in South Africa and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York.

At The Good Guys luncheon, the retailers donate money to the honoree’s charity of choice. Jennings picked the Amy Biehl Foundation Trust not-for-profit organization in Cape Town that commemorates Amy Biehl, an American antiapartheid activist who was killed during racial violence in South Africa in 1993, and helps youths of the townships around Cape Town with after-school programs, HIV/AIDS education and hot meals. Jennings was invited to be one of The Good Guys about a dozen years ago when he was running Holt Renfrew. “I believe I was the first non-American to join,” Jennings said.
