ALL HAIL THE QUEEN: Breguet will pay homage to the Queen of Naples through an exhibition held in Geneva’s Cité du Temps from Jan. 16 to Feb. 12. The exhibit, which celebrates the 200th anniversary of the creation of the first wristwatch, will coincide with the 22nd session of Geneva’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, held from Jan. 16 to 20.
Ordered in 1810 by Caroline Murat, sister of Napoleon and the Queen of Naples, the watch was completed and delivered in 1812. While that particular watch has yet to be found, Breguet’s archives have made it possible to retrace the creation of the timepiece.
Nodding to the 200-year-old watch, Breguet will showcase its own Queen of Naples collection, which it launched 10 years ago, at the retrospective exhibit.
